When choosing a gazebo, the roof type determines not only the look but also the convenience of use:

• Mono-pitch gazebos are considered modern and easy to match with contemporary architecture.
• Gable-roof gazebos are the classic solution, ensuring good run-off and proportions.
• Hip-roof gazebos are more decorative and stable, often chosen for open spaces.
• Decorative gazebos with several roof elements become a striking garden feature.

Depending on the surrounding architecture, you can choose either modern outdoor gazebos or more classic models.

When planning an outdoor gazebo by the house, not only the type of gazebo matters but also its position on the plot. The right orientation decides whether the gazebo will be used often or become just a visual element.

What to consider:

• Direction of the sun. The south and west sides need shade more often – here more enclosed or mono-pitch gazebos that shield from the hot afternoon sun pay off. On the east side more open structures are usually chosen, which do not block the light and let the space “breathe”.
• Wind direction. If stronger winds prevail on the plot, choose a gazebo with partial shelter or an enclosed type with sliding doors. It is recommended to orient the more enclosed part of the gazebo towards the prevailing wind – that way the space stays comfortable on cooler days too.
• Connection with the house. The closer the gazebo is to the kitchen, terrace or main entrance, the more practical it is for everyday use. Next to the house, mono-pitch or semi-enclosed structures are more common, naturally “extending” the house into the outdoors.
• Privacy. In open spots visible to neighbours, choose gazebos with side walls or glazing. In more secluded, more planted parts of the yard, more open gazebos or pergolas work well.

Functionally this means one simple thing: a well-chosen position lets you use the gazebo more often, for a longer season and more comfortably, without constantly adapting to the weather.

If you are looking for a cheap wooden gazebo, it is important to understand that a lower price usually means a simpler structure, not lower quality. Smaller, more open models have fewer additional elements, a lighter form and a simpler roof, so they cost less – but their function, creating shade and a comfortable leisure space, remains.

More complex gazebos with glazing, a larger area or decorative solutions cost more, but in return offer greater comfort and wider uses. So when choosing a gazebo, the key is to weigh not only the price but also how often you plan to use it.
